MCA/Fire Liaison Manager (FLM)
Area Manager B ~ Three year secondment

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is  seeking  applications  from  highly  motivated  individuals  at   Group B  or  Area  Manager  role  who  have  drive,  enthusiasm  and  outstanding leadership skills to act as the 'inter-agency' manager for the UK Maritime Incident Response Group  (MIRG).

The role is located within the MCA management structure and will be a three year contract for the individual concerned.

The Fire Liaison Manager plays a key role in ensuring the continuity between MCA and UK FRS in relation to maritime resilience and the role of the FRS in coastal activities. Proven evidence of continuous personal development in this area is essential.

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Chief Coastguard you  will be responsible for developing inter-agency operational practices, management of the national MIRG strategy and review  of training and equipment standards for those  FRS that form the MIRG. There is also the opportunity to contribute to national, regional and inter agency working.

The successful candidate will have experience in maritime operational practices, training and development along with a good understanding of IPDS. We are looking for a commitment to excellence and improvement, as well as excellent team management and communication skills.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be appointed on Wednesday 1st October. A three month handover period with the current post holder has been programmed.
